Man dies after collision with car on A40 in Carmarthen

The road was closed for almost eight hours on Easter Monday.

Dyfed Powys Police is investigating a road traffic collision which happened early on Easter Monday in Carmarthen.

A car and a pedestrian were involved in the collision on the A40 eastbound just before Carmarthen at around 04:45am on April 1st.

The force says a male pedestrian died at the scene.

His next of kin has been told and is being supported by specialist officers.

The A40, eastbound and westbound between Carmarthen and St Clears, was closed following the collision and reopened at about 1pm on Easter Monday.
