A man from Swansea has been sentenced to 2 years and three months behind bars for attempting to court sexual images from a child.

54 year old Phillip Hill connected with a Facebook account belonging to who he thought was a 13 year old girl. Instead, the account belonged to a group of paedophile hunters.

Mr Hill asked the account on multiple occasions to send him sexually explicit images before telling the decoy to have a good day at school.

Mr Hill worked as an anaesthesia nurse at Morriston Hospital and was found to have messaged the account whilst he was at work.

After his arrest, the defendant was also found to possess nearly 300 images of extreme sexual content, with some of the content in his possession for nearly 10 years.

Judge Thomas said in his remarks that it was clear Mr Hill was a 'serious sexual deviant'.

Mr Hill has been sentenced to 2 years and 3 months in jail. He will also have a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and be listed on the Sex Offenders Register.
