Two Swansea men have been jailed for causing a serious collision in the city.
It happened shortly after 10.30pm on February 24, 2020, when Owen Liscombe and Ben Davies were racing each other on the A483 in Penllergaer.
Losing control, Liscombe crashed his Mini after crossing the central reservation and colliding head on with a Ford Mondeo.
Both Liscombe and the driver of the Ford received significant injuries that required a long stay in hospital and multiple operations.
Davies and Liscombe pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Serious Collision Investigator, Dawn Griffiths said: “It is purely down to luck that the reckless driving of Liscombe and Davies didn’t have more serious consequences.
“What Liscombe and Davies chose to do for fun that night has changed somebody else’s life. I hope others can learn from this and seriously consider their approach to driving. A car handled in the wrong way can be a lethal weapon.”
Owen Liscombe, 23 from Cwmrhydyceirw, Swansea was sentenced to two years.
Ben Davies, 23 from Ynysforgan, Swansea was also sentenced to two years.
Both were banned from driving for six years.
