Neath man already serving jail time for rape handed 10-year sentence for second attack
This additional 10-year term for the offence committed in 2015 brings his total jail time to nearly 25 years
A 40-year-old man from Neath has been sentenced to an extended 10-year jail term for the rape of a woman in 2015.
Simon Morgan’s latest conviction adds to his existing 14-year sentence handed down in April 2025 for rape, coercive controlling behaviour, and assault causing actual bodily harm against a different woman in 2021.
This week, he has been handed an additional lengthy sentence, which will be served consecutively to his earlier conviction, bringing his total time behind bars to nearly 25 years.
According to the authorities, Morgan's offences demonstrate a pattern of sexual and violent behaviour over several years.
“Simon Morgan’s sexual and violent offending is disgusting and is not limited to just one victim,” Rape Investigation Team Officer Emma Robbins said.
“He is a permanent threat to women’s safety and there is no doubt that had his brave victims not come forward, he would be committing these same offences to someone else today.”
“We commend the victims for their immense bravery in speaking out. The Rape Investigation Team led a thorough investigation into Simon Morgan’s crimes, and this has resulted in a horrible man finally facing justice."
“It is pleasing to see such a violent and dangerous man – one who has repeatedly exploited his power over defenceless women – consigned to such a large prison sentence.”
In accordance with the victim's wishes, Simon Morgan's custody image has not been published.
