MP in court on traffic collision charges
Jamie Wallis - Wales' first openly trans MP- denied the charges at Cardiff Magistrates Court
A South Wales MP has appeared in Cardiff Magistrates Court to plead not guilty to failing to stop after a traffic collision last year.
Conservative MP for Bridgend, Jamie Wallis also denied failing to report a road traffic collision, driving without due care and attention and leaving a vehicle in a dangerous position.
The 37 year-old from Cowbridge became the first openly transgender MP when he made a statement earlier this year saying he wanted to transition to a woman,
He was arrested on suspicion of "driving whilst unfit" following the late-night collision when a car hit a lamppost in Llanblethian on November 28.
A trial date was set for July 11 at Cardiff Magistrates' Court.
