A 20-year-old man from Carmarthenshire has been sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 18 years for murdering his brother.

Tyler Lindley, who was 19 at the time of the murder, initially denied a murder charge, pleading guilty to manslaughter. He changed his murder plea to guilty in May.

He killed his 22-year-old brother Cameron Lindley at a house in Treforis, near Ammanford in Carmarthenshire on the 8th of September last year.

Tyler Lindley had been kept at Swansea Prison but was moved to a mental health unit before giving his guilty plea.

Mr Lindley's defence barrister Ignatius Hughes KC said that psychiatric reports showed Mr Lindley's mental health played a role in the murder.

Judge Paul Thomas KC said at the plea hearing that a life sentence was the only sentence Mr Lindley would receive.
