Man suffers 'significant and permanent' injury following assault in Pontypridd

A man has suffered what police have described as a 'significant and permanent' injury after an assault in Pontypridd town centre.
It happened just after midnight on Saturday outside the Food 4 U restaurant and then spilled onto High Street and the A4058.
South Wales Police say a crowd of people were stood in the area at the time.
They're appealing for witnesses and those with mobile phone or dash cam footage to get in touch with them.
Two men arrested in connection with the assault have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
