Man dies in Roath Lake

A man has died in Roath Lake in Cardiff.

This morning, South Wales Police have confirmed that the man passed away following a major incident yesterday evening, in which all three emergency services were called to the scene following in incident shortly after 20:30.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the force said: "South Wales Police has recovered a body from Roath Lake in Cardiff.

"Officers were called to the area shortly after 8.30pm on Saturday 17th June following concerns for the welfare of a 46-year-old man who had not returned after entering in the water.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time and a file is being prepared for H M Coroner."
