Man dies in collision with central barrier on the A465 near Resolven

Police say the 32 year old driver suffered fatal injuries

A 32-year-old man has died after a car collided with central barriers on the main road between Swansea and Merthyr Tydfil.

The collision happened on the A465 northbound, near the Resolven roundabout, at around 7.15pm last night.

The man's family are being supported by specially trained police officers.

This morning, South Wales Police issued an appeal for any witnesses to come forward. It stated:

"We are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision on the A465 near Resolven that occurred yesterday evening Friday 8 September at 7:15pm.

"A green Ford Fiesta collided with the central barriers heading northbound on the A465 prior to the roundabout with Resolven.

"The driver of the Fiesta, a 32-year-old local man suffered fatal injuries as a result. Specially trained Family Liaison Officers are supporting his family at this time.

"We are appealing for dash-cam footage & witnesses to the collision or the manner of driving of the Ford Fiesta prior to the collision to contact us via 101 quoting 230030409 ."
