South Wales say a man has been charged with murder following an assault in Cardiff on Christmas Eve.

A 23 year old man was found injured at an address in Chapel Street in Llandaff at around 11.30am on Sunday morning.

Dylan Thomas from Llandaff - who's also 23 - has been remanded into custody, awaiting a court date.

The force says while formal identification has yet to take place the victim’s family has been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Detective Chief Inspector Matt Davies said: “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family who continue to be updated and supported by family liaison officers.

“Police cordons remain in place in Llandaff, including at the High Street carpark, while enquiries continue.

“Cordons will be lifted at the earliest opportunity. In the meantime, anyone who needs access to their vehicles in the car park, should approach officers on scene guard to be granted access.

“The support and understanding of the local community are very much appreciated.”

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact South Wales Police.
