Man charged with murder after death of woman in Neath
48 year old Mathew Pickering has been charged in connection with the death of Georgina Dowey
A man has has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in Neath.
The body of 46 year old Georgina Dowey was found at an address on Beaconsfield Street in Cadoxton on Sunday May 7th.
Mathew Pickering, who is 48, has been charged with her murder and remanded into custody.
The family of Georgina Dowey has been updated and continue to be supported by a specially-trained family liaison officer.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Matt Powell, said: “My thoughts remain with Georgina’s family who are understandably devastated by what has happened.
“I would like to thank the local community and witnesses for the support they have provided to this investigation to date.
“We are not looking for anybody else in connection with Georgina’s death.
“There has been an increased police presence in Cadoxton since Sunday and this will continue over the coming days as enquiries continue.”
