Man arrested following fatal M4 crash

The three-car collision happened on Monday night - closing the motorway into Tuesday's rush-hour

A man has died after a crash on the M4 involving 3 cars.

The motorway remains closed eastbound between junction 30 Cardiff Gate and junction 28 Tredegar Park with long delays in place.

Gwent Police say a 34 year old man from Cardiff has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

An investigation is underway following the collision which took place just before 9.45pm on Monday night.

Police say a 52 year old man from Newport died at the scene.

Officers remain at the scene and drivers are being told to avoid the area.

Diversions are in place.
