Investigation into fatal accident on M4
Police appeal for witnesses to collision between HGV and pedestrian in the early hours

South Wales Police is investigating a fatal accident between a lorry and a pedestrian at about 3.45am this morning on the westbound carriageway of the M4 motorway at Cardiff.
It happened between Junction 30 and 32. The incident involved a Renault articulated HGV and a male pedestrian.
A spokesman from South Wales Police said:
"Sadly the man was declared deceased at scene and his family are being supported by a specially trained liaison officer.
"Officers wish to thank members of the public who assisted at scene and for their patience during the road closures.
"We would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or seen the vehicle or the pedestrian prior to the collision should contact 101 and quote occurrence number 2100005200."
The eastbound carriageway has now reopened.
