Investigations are continuing in Abergavenny after a fire tore through shops in the town centre.

It broke out on Sunday night with South Wales Fire and Rescue Service called to Frogmore Street just after 8.30pm to reports of a blaze at the Magic Cottage Charity Shop.

At it's height, 14 fire crews were in attendance - including those from Gloucester, Worcester and Hereford - and it took several hours to bring it under control.

No one was hurt.

The fire service says the blaze has caused extensive damage to the building causing a collapse to the first and second floors, and roof of the building.

A number of homes were evacuated on Sunday night with a rest centre set up at Abergavenny Leisure Centre for those affected.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service says it's working closely with Gwent Police as investigations into the cause of the fire continue.
