Olympic disappointment this morning for Welsh cycling hope Geraint Thomas in the men's road race.

He's dropped out of the competition after appearing to struggle following an earlier crash.

Ecuador's Richard Carapaz took gold.

Britain's Adam Yates narrowly missed out on a medal. He was in a group sprinting for silver and bronze but ended up finishing ninth.
