We now know which teams our Welsh football clubs will face on the opening weekend of the season in August.

It's a lunchtime kick off for Cardiff who welcome Sunderland to the Cardiff City Stadium.

Swansea will travel to the Riverside to face promotion hopefuls Middlesborough.

Wrexham will attempt a third consecutive promotion as they kick off their League One campaign against Wycombe on August 10th.

Whilst in League Two Newport County are away to Cheltenham town.

Fans can look forward to the first South Wales derby on August 24th when Swansea host Cardiff, with the return fixture scheduled for January 18th.

Every game from the opening weekend in the Championship, League One, and League Two being televised under the EFL’s new £935 million deal with Sky Sports.

This broadcasting agreement will feature a total of 1,059 EFL matches live throughout the season.

For television coverage, all League One matches on Saturdays will kick off at 5:30 pm, while League Two matches will occupy the 3 pm slot.

The EFL will announce all broadcast selections for matches up to the end of September next week, allowing supporters to plan ahead for any changes involving games scheduled before the FA Cup third round weekend in January.
