A homegrown duo have re-signed for Dragons RFC.
Prop Luke Yendle and back row George Young have signed new contracts for the club, in a move which has been called 'fantastic news' ahead of the new season.
The 22-year-old Yendle made his senior debut for the club in December 2020 in the Heineken Champions Cup and spent the 2021/22 season on loan to the Jersey Reds.
He's featured for the under-19s squad for Wales, as well as the under-18s too, and has appeared four times for the Men of Gwent.
21-year-old Young made his debut for Dragons against Ulster in the BKT United Rugby Championship in February 2020.
The Dragons Academy product – who has now made two senior appearances - has also impressed for Newport RFC throughout this season.
Head Coach Dai Flanagan said: “It’s crucial we develop and retain our very best homegrown talent, so it is great news that Luke and George have agreed new terms.
“Both are young men who have come through our Academy system and who are determined to grasp the opportunity and learn by being around our senior set-up.
“It’s fantastic that Luke and George have joined the likes of Josh Reynolds, David Richards, Brodie Coghlan and Ewan Rosser in signing new deals and we look forward to their continued development.”
