Investigation underway after man dies at Cardiff recycling centre

A worker has died following an incident at a recycling site in Cardiff.

Emergency services were called to reports of an injured man at Atlantic Recycling in Rumney, Cardiff, on Monday.

South Wales Police confirmed that the man had died following the incident and his family have been informed.

The Dauson Environmental Group, which owns the site, said the man was a contractor carrying out maintenance.

The Health and Safety Executive has been notified about the incident and is working with the police as inquiries continue.

A South Wales Police spokeswoman said: "Emergency services were called to a report of an injured man at the Atlantic Recycling site in Cardiff, yesterday afternoon (Monday July 8).

"South Wales Police can confirm the man has died and his family has been informed.

"The Health and Safety Executive has also been informed and an investigation into the incident is ongoing."
