Cwmavon pubs Covid warning

Council gives heads up to customers after people with Covid were found to have visited two pubs

People who visited two pubs in Cwmavon are being warned after a number of people with Coronavirus visted.

Neath Port Talbot Council’s Test, Trace and Protect Service is alerting residents that some people who had Covid-19 have visited Cwmavon’s Afan Tavern and Oakwood Inn.

Two people with Covid were in each pub over the weekend of November 21st. Also, there have been a number of people with Covid who visited the Afan Tavern the previous weekend.

A statement from the Council said:

"If you have visited these premises and have fully completed the track and trace records, the TTP team should have your contact details and you will be contacted by a member of this team to provide further advice if required.

"If you have visited the premises and are currently symptomatic (loss of smell or taste, a new and continuous cough and a high temperature) you should NOT wait to be contacted by the TTP team."

People who visited either of the pubs and experience symptoms should immediately self-isolate along with any household members.

If you have visited the above premises and are NOT symptomatic then you do NOT need to book a test or self-isolate, unless you display symptoms or are instructed to do so by the relevant officials.
