Pedestrian critical after early morning crash which closed M4 at Margam

The collision happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Diversions are in place around Margam after a collision overnight.

One person is in a critical condition in hospital after a crash on the M4 near Margam in the early hours of this morning.

The motorway was closed in both directions during rush hour with long delays and diversions in place.

Police tell the collision happened at 2:15am at Junction 38, Margam and involved a white HGV, car and pedestrian.

The person was taken to University Hospital Wales, Cardiff and remains in a critical condition.

The M4 Westbound from J38 Margam to J39 Groes remains closed.
