Coronavirus restrictions in Wales are tightening up from today.

The so called Rule of Six will apply here with only 6 people from the same extended household being able to meet inside.

That's in contrast to the rules in England which also apply outside.

First Minister Mark Drakeford said: "We have no evidence at all in Wales that coronavirus is being spread by people meeting outdoors.

"We've long known that coronavirus doesn't thrive in the outdoors, it doesn't last on surfaces, it is not fond of sunlight or fresh air.

"What we've tried to do is to strike a balance in the last few days to make sure that the restictions we are putting on people's freedoms are proportionate to the risks that are run.

"We do not believe that the risks are there in the outdoors."

The changes have been brought in after coronavirus cases in Wales rose to 20 per 100 thousand people.

Also, from today, face coverings are mandatory in indoor public places - like shops and shopping centres.

Under 11s and people with certain health conditions will be exempt though.
