South Wales Police is continuing to investigate a stabbing on Clifton Street in Adamsdown yesterday.

Two men, aged 29, who were injured during the incident, are out of hospital and a 43-year-old man remains in police custody.

Inspector for Roath and Cathays, Gerallt Hughes, said: "Understandably this incident has caused concern within the community and any incident involving a knife, is one too many.

"Officers were on patrol in the area at around 9pm last night when a 999 call was received of a man with a knife.

"They chased the suspect into Saphire Street where he was arrested, while other attending officers gave First Aid to the victims.

"Thankfully, their injuries are not life-threatening.

"While an investigation is on-going to establish the exact circumstances of what happened, there will be extra patrols in the area. Anyone with concerns is urged to please contact South Wales Police."

Anyone who witnessed this incident or has video footage is asked to get in touch with officers.
