A black cat called Beauty was shot twice by an airgun around the 21st of November.

The incident took place in the Lewis Terrace area of Porth. Beauty, who is 10 years old, likes to visit the allotments in the area.

Beauty was taken to the vet, where they received treatment on their chest and abdomen. Two pellets were removed and the cat is recovering.

The RSPCA and South Wales Police have been investigating, but as of yet no leads have been found into who shot the cat.

RSPCA inspector Simon Evans said: “This is a very upsetting incident and unfortunately we have not got far with our enquiries.

“We don’t know exactly where or when this happened and if this was a deliberate attack, so we are appealing for information to try and find out what happened. Although the fact that she was shot twice is of course very suspicious.

“If anyone has any information, they are urged to call the RSPCA’s inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018, which is in confidence.”
