Cardiff venue 'heartbroken' following death of 21 year old woman
South Wales Police say the woman was taken ill at The Vaults early on Saturday.
A Cardiff venue says its 'absolutely heartbroken' and is sending condolences to the family and friends of a 21 year old woman who died early on Saturday morning.
South Wales Police say she was taken ill at an event at The Vaults in Butetown and that her death was being treated as 'sudden and unexplained'.
A statement from the venue released on social media said the woman was treated by the onsite medic and the Welsh Ambulance service but sadly passed away.
Police enquiries are continuing.
The statement from The Vaults is in full below.
"As a venue we are absolutely heartbroken due to the events of Friday night
"During the event concerns were raised for the individual who was immediately taken to the onsite medic for medical assistance.
"South Wales Ambulance Service arrived within minutes to aid our medic but tragically the individual passed away despite every effort from the medical staff
"We would like to send our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the individual and offer our continued support during this tragic time.
"We would also like to say a huge thank you to SWP, SW Ambulance Service, SEMS, Vaults staff and Rubicon security for their incredible efforts
"Safety is our number one priority as a venue and we will continue to implement our strict policies through our upcoming events."
