A woman is in a critical condition after a car was found on fire in Swansea, close to Singleton Hospital.

Emergency services were called to Sketty Lane around 8:20am this morning.

Police say a man and a woman, who are husband and wife, were found with burns and both taken to hospital.

The man's condition is said to be stable, but the woman has 'significant burns' to her body and a head injury. Her condition has been described as critical.

Earlier, the road from Sketty Park to the entrance of the Wales National Pool and Singleton Hospital was closed with disruption in the area.
