Man from Bridgend charged with attempted murder after serious assault

The assault took place during the evening of the 10th of July in Tairfelin, Wildmill.

The 34-year-old suspect was charged this morning and remanded to custody at Cardiff Magistrates Court

A man from Bridgend has been charged with attempted murder following reports of aa serious assault in Wildmill on Monday night.

34-year-old Darren Brown from Wildmill was charged this morning, and remanded to custody at Cardiff Magistrates Court.

A woman is currently still in hospital, but is said to be in a stable condition.

Detective Inspector Owain Morrison from South Wales Police said in a statement:

“I’d like to say thank you to the community in Wildmill for their support in this investigation and I encourage those with any information to come forward quoting reference 2300229643.”

South Wales police say there will likely still be a significant police presence at the location of the assault for 'some time' whilst investigations are being carried out. They also say that the neighbourhood policing team will also be conducting reassurance patrols.
