Boy Hurt In Hit And Run In Merthyr

Police are trying to trace the driver following the collision on New Year's Eve afternoon.

Police are appealing for a driver to come forward after a boy was hurt in a hit and run in Merthyr Tydfil on New Year's Eve afternoon.

The 11 year old was crossing Station Road in Dowlais at around 2pm on Thursday when he was hit by what's thought to be a red Renault Clio which drove off without stopping.

The boy wasn't seriously hurt and was taken to hospital by his family and was treated for scratches and bruising.

An investigation into the incident is now underway.

The driver - believed to be a white man - is urged to come forward, as is anybody who may have witnessed the incident.
