Bodies of man and woman discovered in Port Talbot

South Wales Police is investigating the sudden unexplained deaths of a 40-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman in Port Talbot.

Officers attended the property on Rhodes Avenue at around 9am on Monday February 5th following a reported welfare concern.

After gaining access to the property, officers discovered the bodies.

Forensics have attended the scene and the coroner's been informed.

South Wales Police said investigations are underway.

Labour cllr Stephanie Grimshaw said: "This is a really close knit part of Aberavon and it was deeply upsetting to hear the news.

"There is an investigation ongoing and until we know more I wouldn't like to speculate and I'm unable to comment further."
