Bale: It's the "biggest honour" as Wales open their World Cup finals campaign
Wales face USA in their first Group B game of the tournament
The day that Welsh football fans have been waiting for has finally arrived as Wales start their first World Cup finals campaign for 64 years.
Tonight, Cymru will face USA in their first game of the competition at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium.
Over the next week or so they'll also take on Iran and England in Group B.
Wales captain Gareth Bale says being at their first World Cup for 64 years will inspire an entire generation.
He said: "It's probably the biggest honour we could have for our country to qualify for a World Cup, something we have not done for 64 years.
"Schools are going to stop to watch our games. It's one of those moments which is a massive piece of history, something we have wanted.
"We have the support of the nation back home, no matter what happens. As long as we give 100 per cent our country will love us for that."
England are also in action later - taking on Iran.
Both the Wales and England's captains will risk punishment by Fifa by wearing the rainbow armband promoting inclusivity and LGBTQ plus rights.
Around 2,500 fans have made the trip to Qatar to watch in person as Cymru play their first game since 1958 at a World Cup finals.
Millions more back home in Wales and around the world will be tuning in.
Wales will be without Joe Allen for tonight's opener.
The Swansea midfielder hasn't played since September due to a hamstring problem
Wales kick off against USA at 7 o clock tonight.
