Armed Police have responded to an "incident" in Cardiff, in a move officers describe as a precaution.

South Wales Police received reports of a group of young males threatening a teenager on Gabalfa Avenue yesterday afternoon (Monday 15th November).

At around 2.37pm, it's thought the group made off in a vehicle.

Police believe those involved are known to each other, and that nobody was hurt.

On social media, officers added: 'Firearms officers were deployed as a precaution to ensure the safety of officers and the public.

'The local community is thanked for their patience and co-operation while our officers safely managed this incident.

'Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact South Wales Police quoting *401187.'
