Another Three Areas Of South Wales To Face Local Lockdowns
Neath Port Talbot, Torfaen and the Vale of Glamorgan will see tighter restrictions from 6pm tonight.
More than 1-point-8 million people in Wales - nearly 60 percent of the population - will be under local lockdowns from 6pm tonight.
Neath Port Talbot, Torfaen and the Vale of Glamorgan are the latest areas to see local restrictions introduced because of the rising number of coronavirus cases.
Wales' two largest cities - Cardiff and Swansea - saw tighter measures brought in last night.
First Minister Mark Drakeford has appealed for people to do the right thing and respect the rules.
He said: "People are able to travel for work but when you travel for work - that is what you are meant to be doing - not using that opportunity to go out and socialise, to mix with other people, to go out."
He added: "We get throught this by a trust based system in which we all know what the right thing is and we are willing to do it.
"For that tiny minority of people who deliberately, knowingly and intentionally do the wrong thing we have to be prepared to act.
"The less you travel, the safer you and other people will be and we need to keep hammering that message home to people who will be able - for designated reasons - to continue to cross boundaries - only for those purposes, please."
