Senedd members will hear calls to scrap plans for 20 mile per hour speed limits on Wales' residential streets later.

A debate will be held this afternoon after a petition against the idea received more than 20 thousand signatures.

Changes aimed at cutting road deaths and making communities safer are due to come in on September 17th.

Ben Watkins who is behind the petition said the change could "lead to an increase in road rage incidents".

The reduction in the speed limit has been piloted in 8 areas of Wales including St Brides in the Vale of Glamorgan, Llanelli North in Carmarthenshire and Abergavenny in Monmouthshire.
