Bake Off viewers left 'fuming' with semi-final results

If you've not yet watched Tuesday night's (17th November) episode of The Great British Bake Off, you probably don't want to carry on reading, as the below article contains some HUGE spoilers...
But if we still have your attention, like the rest of the nation you are probably still seething after last night's results, as fan favourite Hermine was booted off meaning she lost her place in next week's final.
Hermine, who has been voted Star Baker in the last two weeks, was voted off by judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith in Pâtisserie Week, with Laura, Peter and Dave landing a spot in next week's big final.
Although the 39-year-old didn't have her greatest week in the famous tent, Bake Off fans were quick to express their disappointment and anger at the decision...
One Twitter user wrote, 'Hermine?!? REALLY?!?!? She has one bad bake and THIS?!? 2020 you still have some nasty surprises left. Hermine was robbed. #bakeoff'. (sic)
Another wrote, 'I absolutely hate you 2020, Hermine was phenomenal #GBBO'. (sic)
A third then wrote, 'On what planet did Hermine deserve to go? #GBBO'. (sic)
The complaints didn't end there either, another angry viewer exclaimed, 'This is wrong. Hermine should have stayed. Her signature was great. She should have come first in the technical because her horn fit the brief. How is Laura still there? She got slatered in 3 challenges.' (sic)

Following her elimination from the show, Hermine wrote an emotional open letter about her time on the popular show.
'What a summer 2020 has been!! When I left my house that Tuesday morning in November 2019 (feels like the 1800s looking back!!!), never did I imagine that I will be filling a GBBO form.
'Looking back, I am so glad I was encouraged to do so. It has been an absolute privilege to have made it to the tent and to have baked alongside 11 fantastic bakers each with their own strength.
'The camaraderie was amazing. The friendship meant that although it was a competition, I always felt I was competing against my better self. Never against the other bakers.
'I bake from the heart and all I wanted to do was put a smile on the judges face with my bakes and every week as they enjoyed my flavours, it filled my heart with so much joy.'
With three bakers remaining, The Bake Off final will take place on Tuesday 24th November.
