Woman dies in Isle of Wight Festival campsite
Hampshire Police say they are not treating her death as suspicious
A woman in her 40s has died in the campsite of the Isle of Wight Festival.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed they attended an incident at the Seaclose Park site in Newport at 10:51am on Thursday.
A police spokesperson said:
"We were called at 10.51am yesterday (20/6) to a report of a sudden death in the campsite of Isle of Wight Festival.
"A woman in her 40s has been confirmed as deceased and her family are aware.
"This is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
The Isle of Wight Festival added that they are "deeply saddened" by the woman's death.
"Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with her family and friends."
The four-day event continues until Sunday, with The Prodigy, Pet Shop Boys and Green Day among the headliners.
