Woman arrested after indecent exposure incident in Ryde

Police have made an arrest after a woman is reported to have indecently exposed herself to people in Ryde.

Hampshire Police are appealing for witnesses after public order incident in Ryde, in which it was also reported that a woman exposed herself.

The incident is said to have occurred between 12.15pm and 12.40pm on Wednesday (3 July) in the pedestrian precinct in Ryde.

Police were told a woman had been verbally abusing members of the public and lifting up her clothes to expose herself.

The 37-year-old woman was then arrested near the Co-op in John Street on suspicion of a public order offence.

She was also arrested on suspicion of another public order offence relating to incidents outside the King Lud pub between 20 May and 17 June, a theft offence relating to alleged unauthorised withdrawals of money, possession of cannabis, and criminal damage to a police van.

The woman was bailed for all of these offences with conditions not to return to the Isle of Wight, while investigations continue.
