Appeal after man assaulted in centre of Southampton

It happened on Thursday evening

Police are appealing for information fllowing an assault in Southampton city centre on the evebing of Thursday 22nd August.

At around 7.30pm police were called to a report that a group of teenagers were assaulting a male on East Street. The group were seen to kick and punch the victim.

Police attended and spoke to a number of people in the area at the time, however the victim was not located.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police have said:

"As part of our ongoing enquiries we are asking for the victim of this assault to come forward and speak to us, so that we can make sure they are ok and getting any support that they may need.

"We are also keen to hear from anyone else in the area at the time who saw what happened, or has any information that may assist our investigation."
