Work to widen the A31 to three lanes at Ringwood will see closures this weekend.

Traffic on the A31 westbound contraflow will be moved back onto two lanes of the westbound carriageway from 6.00am on Sunday.

The switchover during the closure will also allow the westbound Verwood exit slip road to be reopened.

The section which remains closed in the central reservation will allow kerb and drainage work to be completed, as well as the installation of new safety barriers.

The eastbound carriageway will continue using the contraflow until the road and slip roads are fully re-opened at the end of November.

The A31 will be closed overnight from Friday 21 to Saturday 22 October (8pm and 6am) between M27 Junction 1 (Cadnam) and the A338 at Ashley Heath.

On Sunday 23 October, the eastbound A31 will be closed (8pm and 6am) between A338 at Ashley Heath and M27 junction 1 (Cadnam).

From Monday 24 to Friday 28 October, Ringwood Flyover will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am eastbound and westbound.

Diverted traffic should follow the signs and leave the A31 and re-join via slip roads.
