Water supplies disrupted in Southampton after main bursts

Homes and businesses in parts of Southampton have lost their water supply following a burst main.

Southern Water said properties in the SO16 and SO17 postcode areas were affected.

Engineers began repairs to the burst main in Stoneham Lane in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The water company described repairs as a "slow process" due to the size of the pipe, but said supplies were returning.
