Water supply outage hits parts of Hampshire
Portsmouth Water says many areas including Gosport and Stubbington are starting to get back to normal
Running water is starting to return to homes and businesses in Gosport and Stubbington in Hampshire this morning (Tuesday 11th April) after an outage in the area.
Problems began at around 6am this morning when thousands of customers lost supplies after the failure of a control valve.
In a statement from CEO of Portsmouth Water, Bob Taylor said: "The problem this morning in Gosport started at around 6am which the malfunctioning of a control valve that manages pressure.
"We diagnosed the problem and are looking into ways to restore water in a controlled way very soon.
"We sincerely apologise to our customers in the area for the disruption this morning. We hope water supplies restored very soon."
