Vandals target another bus in Southampton

Another bus has been damaged by vandals in Southampton.

Police say the service was targeted on Aldermoor Road in Lordshill last night (Saturday 20th February 2021).

No one was hurt.

Officers have been escorting buses through parts of Millbrook in recent weeks after a spate of attacks.

In a statement on Facebook, police in Southampton said: "Sadly, another bus has been damaged on Aldermoor Road.

"Six youths seen running away towards Lordshill District Centre and Fairisle Road.

"Neighbourhood Officers were just minutes behind them but the group vanished in to the maze of footpaths around Cromarty Road.

"Perhaps your child was out and about between 19:30 and 19:50 hours, did they take a catapult with them?

"We have some CCTV enquiries that may identify the group, fingers crossed we'll be knocking some doors in the coming days.

"The bus driver and two passengers were not injured, thankfully."
