Twelve treated for smoke inhalation following Southampton fire

Twelve people have been treated for smoke inhalation following a fire at a three-storey building in Southampton city centre.

The blaze broke out on the High Street on Sunday night (June 12th), with crews from St Marys, Redbridge, Hightown and Eastleigh called to the scene along with members of the South Central Ambulance Service.

Two people were escorted from the building by firefighters.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue said the building was considered 'saveable'.

Crews had left the scene by around 9pm.
