12 sheep have been rescued by fire crews from a muddy bog in Test Valley.

Crews from Redbridge fire station were called at just before midday yesterday (Thursday 25 July) to Cold Harbour Lane in Lee to reports of some sheep being stranded.

The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service says the crew discovered twelve sheep stuck in knee deep mud and water.

Some of them were struggling to keep their heads above the surface.

Their specialist animal rescue team in Winchester were also called, who worked to release the sheep.

All twelve have been taken to rest in their barn and are now recovering.
