Tributes paid to 'generous and kind' father killed in Gosport

The family of a man who was killed during an incident in Gosport have released a tribute in his memory.

Officers were called by Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service to Exmouth Road at around 5.20pm on Friday 29 November, following reports of a fire at an address.

It was further reported that a man – identified as 65-year-old Andrew Avery from Gosport – had been seriously assaulted at the address, and died as a result of the injuries sustained.

Andrew’s family have today (Friday 6 December) released the following tribute:

“Andy was a much-loved Husband, Father, Brother and Dear Friend. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. Andy was the most generous and kind person and would do anything for anyone. His memory will live on through his family and friends.

“Andy, you were so very loved and taken from us far too soon.”

A man has been charged with murder as part of our investigation into Andrew’s death.
