The family of a 16-year-old boy killed in a road crash in Christchurch say his death has left a 'hole they will never fill'.

Billy Lardner was hit by a car at around 9.40pm on Parley Lane near Bournemouth Airport on Friday night (30th June).

In a statement, released through Dorset Police, Billy's family have said:

“Billy has left a hole in our heart that we will never fill, 16 years of fun, laughter and unforgettable memories.

"The best son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend, bar none.”

25-year-old Tyrone Franklin from Poole is due in court next month charged with causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop and driving without valid insurance.

An 18-year-old man from Wales, arrested on suspicion of driving offences, and a 39-year-old woman from Ferndown, arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice following the collision, remain on police bail.

Dorset Police are still investigating the circumstances of the collision.
