A teenager has been charged with murder after an 18-year-old man died in Bournemouth.
Cameron Hamilton was found with a stab wound following a reported altercation in the Square at just before 1.30am on Saturday (August 5th).
He was pronounced dead at the scene, with Dorset Police officers continuing to support his family.
Thomas Betteridge, who is 18 and from Southsea, has also been charged with possession of a bladed article.
He is due before Poole Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (August 8th).
Another 18-year-old man, from Portsmouth, is due before the same court charged with assisting an offender.
Two other 18-year-old men arrested on suspicion of affray – one from Poole and one from Bournemouth – were released under investigation.
Detective Inspector Neil Third, of Dorset Police's Major Crime Investigation Team, said:
"This has been the subject of a fast moving and thorough investigation and we have consulted with the Crown Prosecution Service, which has authorised the charges.
"Cameron’s family has been updated with this development and officers continue to support them at this difficult time.
"This case will now be the subject of active court proceedings and it would be inappropriate for us to comment any further at this time as it is vital that the justice system is allowed to follow its course.
"It is important to also stress that there should be no further commentary or sharing of information online or on social media that could potentially prejudice these proceedings."
