A teenage boy is being treated in hospital for head injuries after being attacked by a group in Eastleigh.

Police say it happened on Saturday 20 March on Beaulieu Road, with reports it was recorded on mobile phones.

Hampshire Police have released this statement:

We are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with information, following reports of a GBH assault in Eastleigh.

The incident occurred at around 4pm on Saturday 20 March on Beaulieu Road in Eastleigh, whereby a teenage boy has been involved in an altercation with a group of individuals.

The victim has fallen down the steps of a footbridge along Beaulieu Road and was then further assaulted.

He was taken to Southampton General Hospital and treated for head injuries, although they are not serious or life-threatening.

We are aware of reports of the incident being recorded on mobile phones and we would ask that these are not shared on social media.
