An 18-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to the manslaughter of a woman who fell from a block of flats.

Emergency services were called to reports that a woman had fallen from the address in Cuckmere Lane, Southampton, at around 2.45pm on August 28, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said.

Tia Langdon (pictured) , 25, from Southampton, was found at the scene with significant injuries. She later died in hospital.

Police said a second woman had been at the address at the time of Ms Langdon's death.

Jaiden Hassan-Agard, of Stour Close, Southampton, appeared at Southampton Crown Court where he pleaded not guilty to the manslaughter of Ms Langdon.

He also entered not guilty pleas to making threats to kill, false imprisonment and threatening with a machete in a private place in relation to Ms Langdon as well as against a second woman.

He also denied a charge of assault causing actual bodily harm against Ms Langdon and kidnap against the second alleged victim.

Judge William Mousley KC adjourned the case for trial with a provisional starting date of April 7 with a further case management hearing to be held on January 23 and remanded Hassan-Agard in custody until then.

He told the defendant: "This trial could be heard here on April 7 next year but a decision will be made in the near future whether it will be heard in a different court at a different time.

"You will be informed of any change in date. At the moment you are due back here for a further hearing on January 23."

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said Hassan-Agard is British-born and identified as mixed white and black Caribbean.
