Dorset Police have confirmed that a teenager has been charged after an incident involving an imitation firearm earlier this week in Bournemouth.

The boy is due to appear in court today (24 April) after officers were called out on Tuesday to reports of an altercation involving two people in St Swithun’s Road in Bournemouth, near to the junction with Frances Road.

It was reported that one of them was in possession of a possible firearm and subsequently had left the scene.

There were no reports of any injuries and there was no evidence to suggest a viable firearm was involved - it is believed the weapon was a BB gun or similar.

Officers are said to have then taken out 'quick-time enquiries', and later arrested and subsequently charged a 15-year-old boy from Bournemouth with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
