A Sussex Police officer who made comments of a sexual nature and carried out inappropriate acts while off-duty has been sacked from the force without notice.
The female officer, who remains anonymous, was dismissed following a two=day misconduct hearing on Monday and Tuesday (February 10-11).
The hearing was told that the remarks were made towards colleagues and members of the public while the officer was at a social event on April 23rd, 2023.
The panel found this behaviour were a breach of professional behaviour standards in respect of Authority, Respect and Courtesy and, Discreditable Conduct and amounted to gross misconduct.
The officer will now be added to the College of Policing Barred list, which prevents her from returning to policing.
Detective Superintendent Andy Wolstenholme, Deputy head of force Professional Standards said:
"The officer’s actions were unwanted and invasive.
"This was extremely concerning because police officers and staff must behave in a manner that does not discredit the police service or undermine public confidence, whether on or off duty.
"All staff are aware of the standards of professional behaviour and the force remains committed to holding officers to account where they fall below the high standards the public rightly expect."
