The NHS in Sussex has called off a critical incident which has been in place for the past seven days.

It was declared last Friday, December 20th, ahead of the New Year weekend in response to the extreme pressure A&A departments have been facing.

The critical incident meant some non-urgent operations, appointments and procedures could be cancelled to allow the NHS to focus on those who needed immediate care.

People are still being asked to use alternative services where they can though.
